The hardware in the GT3 bundle is the same as the hardware the stand alone systems had just prior to the 30001R (ie same thing but without the 2.10 DVD driver.) Again, the GT3 pack does not, nor will it ever, feature the 30001R system or the built in 2.10 DVD driver. The ONLY way to get a 30001R, is to buy a 30001R

The drive itself requires no Windows drivers at all - it is just a CD-ROM drive as far as the OS is concerned.

I started out using Win98 which did have the necessary drivers but, for whatever perverse reason/s, Win2000 substitutes a Compaq DVD driver which doesn't recognize It plays all the CD-ROMs, CDRs, etc. but when I put in a DVD, PowerDVD (which worked under Win98) simply reports that there is no DVD in the drive.
